Description
Elfaria Albis Serfort is one of the most compelling figures in Wistoria: Wand and Sword (Tsue to Tsurugi no Wistoria). As the youngest member of the Magia Vander—the elite circle of supreme mages residing at the top of the Tower of Mercedes—she represents the pinnacle of magical achievement.
The Ice Queen’s Brilliance
Known as the "Ice Queen," Elfaria is a generational prodigy. Her mastery over ice magic is so profound that she can freeze the very fabric of a battlefield. While other mages spend decades mastering a single high-level spell, Elfaria manipulates her element with an effortless, almost bored grace. Her power is not just a tool; it is a barrier that separates her from the rest of the world.
The Heart Behind the Frost
Despite her cold title and divine status, Elfaria’s true character is defined by her unwavering devotion to the protagonist, Will Serfort. Their childhood promise—to see the "real sunset" together from the top of the tower—is her sole driving force.
Isolation: At the top, she is surrounded by power but suffers from intense loneliness. She views her status as a Magia Vander merely as a seat she is keeping warm until Will arrives.
Devotion: Unlike the rest of society, which looks down on Will for his inability to use magic, Elfaria knows his true worth. She often displays a playful, almost obsessive side when it comes to him, contrasting sharply with her icy public persona.
Design and Symbolism
With her flowing silver hair and piercing blue eyes, Elfaria’s design mirrors the crystalline nature of her magic. She serves as a beacon of hope and a tragic goalpost; she is the "Wand" that waits for the "Sword."
In summary, Elfaria Albis Serfort is a character of dualities. She is a goddess of the tower who longs for the simplicity of her childhood, a powerful ruler who is arguably the most vulnerable person in the story because her entire world revolves around a single person’s ascent.
