Description
Megumi Tadokoro is a central character in Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, the cooking-themed anime and manga series set around Totsuki Culinary Academy. Raised in a Japanese inn in the countryside, Megumi brings a thoughtful, hospitable approach to cooking into the academy’s demanding competitive environment. Her connection to home and her desire to make people feel welcome are important parts of her identity as a young chef.
At the beginning of the series, Megumi is reserved and often doubts herself, especially when faced with Totsuki’s intense rivalries and high expectations. Her friendship with fellow student Soma Yukihira helps her face difficult challenges and recognize the value of her own instincts. Rather than relying on showmanship, she often draws inspiration from regional ingredients, seafood, and the comforting flavors associated with her upbringing. Over time, she grows more assured while retaining the warmth and care that shape her cooking.
