Description
Nazuna Nanakusa is the central vampire character of Call of the Night, the anime and manga series also known by its Japanese title, Yofukashi no Uta. Created by Kotoyama, the story follows Ko Yamori, a teenager whose nighttime wanderings bring him into contact with Nazuna. Their unusual friendship develops as Ko becomes interested in the vampire’s world and considers what it would mean to become one himself.
Nazuna stands apart from ordinary human life, but she is also a companion to Ko as he explores the city after dark. In the series, vampirism is connected to falling in love with a vampire, giving their relationship an important role in the story. The manga began in 2019, and its anime adaptation introduced the nocturnal setting and characters to a wider audience. Call of the Night blends supernatural fantasy with a coming-of-age story centered on loneliness, connection, and the freedom of being awake while others sleep.
