## Poemu Kohinata: The Lovable Klutz
In the wholesome and comedic manga **The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt** (*Donkan Iinchou to Mijika Skirt no Onnanoko*), **Poemu Kohinata** is the titular "Class Monitor." She is the heart of the series, providing a constant stream of "natural airhead" energy that drives the story's charm.
### Personality: Pure-Hearted and Oblivious
Poemu is the definition of a "good girl," but her personality is defined by two major traits: her extreme diligence and her total lack of situational awareness.
* **The Serious Student:** She takes her role as Class Monitor incredibly seriously. She is always trying to help her classmates, uphold school rules, and ensure everything is running smoothly.
* **The "Donkan" (Oblivious) Queen:** True to the series' title, Poemu is hilariously dense. She often fails to realize when she is in a suggestive situation or when someone (particularly the "Short Skirt Girl," Hana) is flirting with her or reacting to her accidental boldness.
* **Accidental Chaos:** Because she is so focused on "doing the right thing," she often ends up creating awkward or fanservice-heavy situations without even realizing it. Her clumsiness isn't just about tripping; it's about her mind being completely disconnected from the "lewd" implications of her actions.
---
### Appearance and Style: The "Model" Student
Poemu’s design is meant to reflect her personality—proper, neat, and traditional.
* **The Classic Look:** She is usually seen in a perfectly maintained school uniform, often with glasses that emphasize her "studious" nature.
* **Visual Contrast:** She serves as the visual foil to **Hana**, who wears her skirt short and has a more "gyaru-lite" aesthetic. Poemu’s "long skirt" and buttoned-up look represent her adherence to rules, while her internal chaos represents the irony of her character.
---
### The Dynamic with Hana
The core of the manga is the relationship between Poemu and Hana.
* **The Straight Man and the Joker:** Hana is often the one teasing Poemu or trying to get a reaction out of her, only for Poemu to respond with something so innocent or airheaded that Hana ends up being the one flustered.
* **The Protector:** Despite Poemu being the Class Monitor, Hana often finds herself looking out for her, trying to prevent Poemu from accidentally embarrassing herself too much—though she usually fails.
### Why Fans Love Her
Poemu Kohinata is a favorite because she is **unbearably wholesome.**
* **Stress-Free Reading:** Her character ensures that the manga remains a "healing" experience. Even when there is fanservice, it’s framed through her total innocence, making it more comedic than anything else.
* **Relatable Clumsiness:** Everyone has had a moment where they were too focused on a task to notice what was happening around them; Poemu just takes that feeling to a delightful extreme.
She is the perfect "anchor" for a short-form comedy, proving that sometimes the best way to lead a class is with a pure heart and absolutely zero idea what’s going on.
