Description
Shikimori Miyako is the central character of Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie, the romantic comedy manga by Keigo Maki and its anime adaptation. Often called simply Shikimori, she is the girlfriend of Yuu Izumi, whose famously unlucky streak gives their everyday romance an unusual rhythm. Their relationship is already established when the story begins, so the series focuses on their time together and the affection they share with friends and classmates.
Shikimori’s character brings together a sweet, caring side and a notably cool, confident presence. That contrast is a defining part of the series: she can be affectionate with Izumi while also stepping up when circumstances call for composure and resolve. The story uses their different temperaments to shape lighthearted school-life moments, romantic comedy, and friendship, rather than relying only on the familiar beginning-of-a-relationship setup.
The franchise is also known by its Japanese title, Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san, which translates roughly as Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie. This gallery features 60 images credited to wakih and centers on Shikimori Miyako. Her full name and the series title provide useful context for fans looking for character-focused material from the anime and manga. Whether encountered through the manga or the animated adaptation, Shikimori’s mix of tenderness and confidence is at the heart of her appeal as the series’ lead character.
