## Priscilla Barielle: The Sun Princess
In the brutal world of **Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-**, **Priscilla Barielle** is a polarizing force of nature. One of the five candidates for the Royal Selection to become the ruler of Lugunica, she represents the "Solaris" ideology: the world is designed to revolve around her, and fate will always bend to her whim.
### Personality: Supreme Arrogance and Divine Luck
Priscilla is defined by an absolute, unshakable ego. She doesn't just believe she is superior; she considers it an objective law of the universe.
* **"The World is Made in My Favor":** This is her mantra. Priscilla possesses a near-supernatural level of luck. Decisions that seem reckless or whimsical always end in her victory, reinforcing her belief that she is the chosen one of the heavens.
* **Refinement and Disdain:** She has zero patience for "commoners" or those she deems unsightly. She is sharp-tongued, often insulting Subaru or her rivals with a bored, aristocratic flair.
* **Hidden Depth:** While she appears to be a vain tyrant, Priscilla is actually highly intelligent and possesses a surprisingly keen sense of justice—albeit a very self-centered one. She hates "boring" evil and will destroy anyone who disrupts her entertainment or her sense of order.
---
### Abilities: The Crimson Bride
Priscilla is far more than just a political figurehead; she is a formidable combatant who wields the power of the sun.
* **The Yang Sword (Vollachia):** She can manifest a legendary crimson blade made of light. This sword burns anything it touches and can dissipate magic. Only those with the "Right to Rule" can wield it without being consumed by its heat.
* **Sun Magic:** She specializes in Yang Magic, allowing her to buff her physical stats or unleash devastating fire-based attacks.
* **Vollachian Blood:** Coming from the Vollachian Empire (a "survival of the fittest" nation), she has been hardened by a life of betrayal and assassination attempts, making her mentally and physically tougher than almost any other candidate.
### Role in the Narrative
Priscilla serves as the **unpredictable wildcard**. Unlike Emilia (who is kind) or Crusch (who is honorable), Priscilla is purely self-interested.
* **The Foil to Subaru:** In Arc 3, she served as a harsh reality check for Subaru, brutally punishing his entitlement and showing him that the world does *not* revolve around him—ironically, because she believes it revolves around *her*.
* **The Vollachia Arc:** In later parts of the light novel (and eventually the anime), her backstory as a princess of the Vollachian Empire becomes central, revealing the blood-stained path she took to reach her current position.
### Why Fans Love (and Hate) Her
Priscilla is a "Love to Hate" character who eventually earns respect through her **sheer competence**.
* **Empowered Presence:** In a world where characters often suffer and struggle, Priscilla’s refusal to ever be a victim is captivating. She commands every room she enters with her fan and her regal bearing.
* **The Aesthetic:** Her "Gothic Kimono" design, combined with her iconic folding fan, makes her one of the most visually striking characters in the series.
Priscilla Barielle is the sun of the Re:ZERO world: brilliant, powerful, and capable of burning anyone who gets too close without her permission.
